On demand large format printing is generally accomplished with two different types of digital printers:

Large Format Plotters

There are a variety of machines especially designed to render low resolution displays designed to be viewed at a distance. Go to any fast food restaurant or local establishment and view the posters at close range. It will be easy to discern a dot pattern and a fairly limited color range. These posters are meant to be viewed from far way and they are effective at conveying the message. Typically dyes are used for this type of job because the prints will not be displayed for a long time. If left hanging for a few months to years, the colors will fade.

High Resolution Large Format Inkjet Printers

Other printers such as Roland and Epson can be configured to print large format displays and the resolution can be set to accommodate different needs. Many companies who specialize in short run poster printing choose not to use the highest resolution to save time and ink costs.

We specialize in high quality large format giclee printing. Our clients need archival, permanent high resolution prints on resin coated (photo type), canvas or art papers. We take care of custom jobs that require exacting color matching such as painting reproductions and photographic prints.

Analyzing your images is the first step. We need high resolution files with no clipping in highlights and shadows. We preflight the file and proof it both for color and detail.
