Canvas printing services for artists and photographers: Our pricing page lists the types of canvas available. We start with the finest substrates which are coated with a scratch and UV resistant varnish.

The canvas prints we produce are second to none in terms of archival and color quality. We do not purchase from overseas cheap manufacturers. All our canvas is supplied by US companies and it shows. Although more expensive to us, we found American made canvas to have less quality control issues and better color, not to mention the greatest archival properties. Many shops do not mention what they use; we do!

Our Shop: Canvas Printing Methodology

We proceed with canvas printing once we finish and are completely satisfied with color corrections; please allow at least three days before shipping or picking up the giclees. The pigments have to cure and stabilize at least 24 hours. After this, we will proceed with coating. We use a proprietary resin to protect the canvas both from scratching as well as UV light. The coat needs to age for 48 hours. The canvas can be then safely stretched.

Canvas printing represents a particular challenge for color rendition. The mechanics of ink to substrate binding and reactivity are very different. With resin coated photo papers there is much more latitude with the design of compounds and layers that will expand color rendition.

On the other hand, manufacturers face technical issues with canvas substrates prepared for giclee printing. The coatings have to be devised so that they can be laid on a natural medium such as canvas fabric. We expect continuous progress in the technology as canvas giclee is one of the fastest growing sectors in printing. We have seen a dramatic increase in the demand for fine art prints on canvas both from individual customers as well as large hotel chains, resorts and corporate offices.

Post Printing Services

We offer stretching services for our clients. After printing your canvas, we can mount it the same way as it would be if it was an oil or acrylic painting. Our canvas is coated in so that it is as durable as an original. Anyone who is used to stretching artist's canvas and wants to mount the giclee to save on shipping and labor costs can perform the task!
