Marketing your giclee and original work on the Internet is one of the ways to increase exposure. Some online galleries have variable fees and options to list art work, while others are completely free. There are also commission based opportunities. While we do not indorse any particular company, many times the sites that charge memberships and commission do so because they provide a service which is worth the expense. Be discriminating; ask fellow artists, join forums and groups to find out who sells and who does not. Many designers, interior decorators and private buyers look at the web as an almost unlimited showcase. We have customers who have been contacted by designers to decorate homes, or have found good agents. Fine art photographers can use the same oulet: we have started a giclee gallery and are slowly adding more work as we go. Never before there has been a better opportunity to reach audiences worldwide. If you do not have a web site, build one. Make sure it is very well designed. You will be surprised at how many artists have amateur quality sites that do not show the same passion and talent as their work. As visual artists, a web site is like a portfolio or a brochure.
